If you were to be sitting with me at a coffee shop and you asked me what my values were, I would say honesty, hard work, transparency, belief in others and vision. I'm someone who loves honesty, who loves when people are real and love when people work hard. I am also someone who loves when people can dream with me and can see ability for growth in others. I'm going to break these all down and how I reflect them to me and my ministry.

When I say I value honesty, I mean that I love when people are straight up with me. I don't want someone to sugar coat something but to be honest right away. I think this stems back to being someone who appreciates the truth. I am someone who needs to be told straight up as well as love being loving but honest to others. In my life I've had a few leaders who have left and impact on my life by just being straight up and real with me. They may call me out when I mess up but lead me through it and guide me with love and grace. The bible calls us to share the truth so in my ministry I want to do that. Ephesians 4:24 says to speak truthfully to your neighbor. This value in a way relates to transparency, because as much as I want to speak the truth to others I also want to have a honest and open relationship so others and be transparent with me. I value people who don't try to cover their mess but want to be honest about it. In my ministry, as I have said before I want to meet people where they are at. I want people to know they don't have to have it all together to talk to me. I also want people to know that I won't judge them for what they have done or will do. I am someone who values openness and honesty.

As a Christian, we are called to live a life of faithfulness and it's not always going to be easy. That's where my value for hard work comes in. I value when people don't just take the easy way out but work hard for something. When following God, it's not always something that is easy, it takes effort and a heart to do so. I value people who are ready to run the race, to stay around when things get touch and to work hard for a goal.

Since I am a developer, I love seeing people grow but I also see the growth in them. I believe that they are capable and love to encourage and uplift them through that. In my own ministry, I value belief in others. I value people who aren't going to tear people down but see the ability for growth we all have. In ministry, we are going to come across people who are hurting, struggling or maybe have no understand of God in general. When you believe in someone you are allowing yourself to see what that person could become, which can lead me to vision.

I value vision because I think it's important to any ministry. It's important to have a vision for where your ministry is going. As Christians we can have visions for ourselves too. I think it's important that we don't just stay in one place, but that we are also looking ahead and brainstorming for the future. Things are going to change, bad things will happen that can mess up our process and we need to be ready.
