Purpose

We all have a reason for being here, we all have a purpose and have worth. At times in my life I know I have struggled to see that, especially the times before I knew God and how much he loved me. I love meditating and reflecting on how much God loves, how much he cares and how much purpose we truly do have. Matthew 10:30 expresses how every hair on our head is numbered, and Psalm 139:13 expresses how God knew us before we were even born, that he knit us together in our mothers womb. God created us with much purpose and plan. He didn't just make us and not care, but he made us to do great things.

I believe that my purpose here is to glorify God in all that I do, I believe that I am called to be a Christ-follower and share the good news. That being said, I believe my purpose is to exhibit that to those around me. In my ministry, I exhibit that to my teenagers. I have worked with a lot of high school students and I find it so important to be an example to them. I'm not saying I don't fail because I'm not perfect and at times we all fall short. I believe my purpose is to set and example, in speech, conduct, love, faith and purity like it says in 1 Timothy 4:12. Rick warren expressed in his book that we are on earth for eternal purposes not cultural values.

I am someone who has a heart for others. I love to bring people together. I'm not shy when it comes to meeting new people and I tend to thrive in social situations. I love meeting someone and finding a common ground with them. I believe the love I have for people comes from God. I have a heart for those around me and I always want to be hearing someones story. I believe that my purpose is to use that. For awhile I have felt that God is telling me I will be somewhere where I will bring people together and share His truth. It won't be the coolest place, it won't be a place that seems cool or exciting, but it will be a place that I am called. It will be a place that I have a purpose and that's to show God's love and light to those around me. I've always been good at bringing people together, I never though that about myself until people began pointing it out to me. I've felt for a long time God sharing that to me, I don't fully understand where that place will be but I know that whenever it comes I will remain faithful.

I believe that my purpose is to glorify God and delight in Him. Each day, to give myself to Him and see where that takes me. I believe that I am called to share the gospel with others, to disciple and lead others to Christ. This is something I can do no matter where I am. I also have to remember my purpose is to follow Him, that I can't try to do things apart from Him because I will fail. I my purpose is to walk through each day with God, listening to the Spirit and seeing how He works.
